Echo Research takes on the Corporate Walking Challenge

Finishing at a whopping 3,108,708 steps, Echo Research managed to raise over £1,200 in support of halow!

The team at Echo Research  recently took on the halow  Corporate Walking Challenge to help raise vital funds for young people with learning disabilities  and autism.  The initial challenge grew from 1 million to 3 million, roughly the length from London to Rome!

Tackling the Challenge

To maximise their impact (and their steps!), the Echo Research team split into two groups, each led by a dedicated team leader. Completing the task through individual and group excursions.

Weekly step count updates, a healthy dose of office competition, and regular progress reports kept motivation high,  as did the visual reminders of funds raised and steps taken.

To help with tracking progress, the team used the Step Up app. The app was simple to set up and seamlessly synced with Apple devices, smartwatches, and other fitness trackers. It allowed participants to visualise their contributions, see the team’s collective progress in real-time, and stay connected throughout the challenge, even with hybrid working.

“The challenge was a fantastic experience that helped energise our office, strengthened team morale, and sparked a wave of positive competition (which occasionally got very spirited!). We’re proud to have collectively exceeded our goal while raising funds for such an important charity that’s very close to our hearts. We would highly recommend the walking challenge to others looking for a fun way to fundraise for halow!”

- Poppy Leach, Marketing and Graphics Executive

Along the way, Echo Research shared updates on LinkedIn, helping spread the word about halow.

The funds raised, and matched by Echo Research, will make a real difference to the young people we support. The inclusive nature of the walking challenge gives everyone a chance to contribute at their own pace. We’re keen to encourage more local businesses to get involved and experience the benefits for their teams and the wider community.

We’re incredibly grateful to Echo Research for their support. For not only being the first to take on this new initiative, but for their dedication and willingness to take a leap of faith.
