Barratt David Wilson Homes Charity of the Year

We are delighted to be Barratt David Wilson Homes Charity of the Year for 2022!

The team have already come up with some brilliant fundraising ideas, and look like they are having lots of fun getting involved.

Sarah from Barratt David Wilson Homes told us,

“We chose halow after receiving separate recommendations by two of our employees, following our annual request for charitable organisation to back for the year.

Having visited halow’s head office, we were very impressed with both the enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism from all the staff and the amount of engagement they have with the local community and surrounding areas. You could see the difference they are making to all of the young adults lives with a learning disability and that dace daily challenges integrating into society and the work place – this has made us want to work with halow even more!

For us to saw what halow was all about and how they are supporting a sector in society who may get missed, and who are transitioning from young adults into their working life, we saw the brilliant work and support that halow offer and the potential of what they can do.

Since announcing our chosen charity for the year, our employees have thrown their weight behind this fantastic cause and have already undertaken a number of fundraising activities and events.

From a bake sale in our Land Department to a month of the Commercial Carnival including a ‘Pie in the Face’ competition, we have already raised well over £1,000. With the Damon Hill Karting Challenge, our annual Charity Golf Day and Evening Ball, and a 100km walk of the Jurassic Coast this year already planned, along with all our monthly departmental fundraising ideas, we hope to raise a significant amount of money for halow.”

Thank you so much to everyone at Barratt David Wilson Homes for all their efforts so far. We wish all the team luck on their next fundraising adventures and can’t wait to see more of their creative ideas.
