What We Do

halow’s purpose is to support young people with a learning disability on their journey into and through adult life.

Overall halow aims to ensure that every person with a learning disability has the same life choices and chances as any other person.

halow offers a unique blend of activities, giving our young people the chance to enjoy an active social life, make new friends, find further educational and employment training through our various initiatives like Building Futures, social events and the halow care Buddy service.

halow care: Buddies

halow care is a community interest company (CIC) which employs  “Buddies” to work on a one to one basis with our young people to give individual support and encouragement.   Each Buddy is matched with a young person with importance being placed on mutual interests and age matching.

Social Activities

This is where it all started ... Jason joined halow in January 2009 to plan, arrange and co-ordinate social activities for our small group of young people.

Since then, we have grown to support just under 200 young adults with a learning disability, and the social calendar has become more and more action-packed.
