Employees from various Santander branches around the South East recently spent the day with halow young people to help them prepare for our upcoming 10th Birthday Party at Gosden House School.

As part of the bank's Discovery Days scheme, 14 Customer Service Managers joined forces with the halow project for a day of volunteering. Working with young people from our A Reason to Get Up programme, the Santander staff spent the morning making craft products including halow bunting which will hang around the gardens at the Birthday Party in September.

After enjoying a picnic in the orchard, the afternoon was spent renovating the Walled Garden at Gosden House. The team worked hard in pruning, hedge cutting and pond clearing. All in all it was a very productive day!

“Today has been a real example of how we at halow can engage with companies, our local community in meaningful work involving our young people.  It has been a joy to work with Santander and a big thank you to Caroline Moore at Gosden House School for hosting us all” Diane Savage, Community & Events Fundraiser said.

Volunteers are incredibly valuable to halow and without their support we would not be able continue to provide our vital services. If you are part of a corporate team looking for volunteer opportunities please contact Diane from our fundraising team to find out how you can get involved or check out our Corporate Opportunities page.
