New Head of Services Appointed

    halow project announced today that it has appointed James Davies as its new Head of Services.

    halow aims to put young people in the driving seat and help them take control of their own lives by providing opportunities and support to:

    •       make and meet friends through social activities

    •       build confidence and life skills

    •       access meaningful work and homes of their own

    James joins at the beginning of an exciting phase in the Quarry Street, Guildford-based charity’s history. Supporting over 170 young people, halow has seen considerable growth in interest for its range of community based social activities and learning programmes and 1:1 personalised support via its Buddy service.

    James has 15 years’ experience working with children and adults with a learning disability, most recently as Operations Director and Interim CEO of Generate Opportunities. Generate has a first class reputation in providing services for people with learning disabilities in Wandsworth, where they have been operating for over 40 years.  As halow’s Head of Services, James, will be responsible for the quality and the development across all programmes and services for young people supported by the charity.

    “I am passionate about promoting the independence of people with a learning disability and  I am very impressed with the charity’s range of services and its strategy. I am looking forward to working with everyone – young people, families, staff, trustees and volunteers – to continue to build and develop the great services,” James added.
