Mercedes-Benz of Guildford, part of the Sandown Group has confirmed it will be the official vehicle sponsor for the charity’s fourth annual halow250 charity bike ride.

The sold out ride, which raises funds for halow, a charity that supports young people with a learning disability, will see an 110+ strong peloton cycle from London to Guildford via France! In just over 48 hours.

Slyfield-based Mercedes-Benz of Guildford will be providing two C-Class Estate and an E-Class Estate vehicles, which will provide support for the riders over the first May Bank holiday event.

Mercedes-Benz of Guildford Dealer Principal, Paul Johnson commented: “We are delighted to be part of this amazing cycling challenge. The work halow does is very inspiring and we are really happy to support the event by providing our vehicles. We wish everyone taking part a safe and enjoyable ride and hope the challenge raises lots of money for the local young people halow supports.”

Damon Hill OBE, patron and co-founder of halow visited the dealership to personally thank the Sandown Mercedes-Benz team. He said: “This new partnership with Sandown Mercedes-Benz is fantastic for our event – our thanks go to everyone for their support. Having safe, comfortable and reliable vehicles is of course very important for an event like this, but add to this the prestige of the Mercedes-Benz brand and we are in a win win situation – we are all looking forward to working with the team as we approach this year’s challenge.”

The halow250 riders will start on their 250-mile challenge in southwest London on Friday 1st May 2015. On a route that will pass through some of the most picturesque countryside in the UK and France, riders will have a demanding three days of intense riding in order to meet the deadlines and schedule ahead of them.

Last year’s challenge saw halow raise an incredible £100,000 from this event. Thanks to the generous sponsors every penny raised will go straight towards halow’s services for young people.  Please show your support for our young people and our terrific riders by making a donation at

The halow250 challenge leaves from The Kings Head, Roehampton, Putney on Friday 1st May and will finish at Guildford Rugby Club, on Sunday 3rd May 2015.
