Surrey County Council’s outdoor learning centre at Henley Fort, played host to halow ‘s Building Futures’ end of programme celebrations on 17-18 July.
Young people, their support and members of the halow team camped for the night and enjoyed a number of fun and exciting events and games over the two days. These included playing the bongos round a camp fire, river swimming and a midnight walk.
The Building Futures Group creates a person centred plan for each of the young people on the year-long, four-day per week programme. The plan in turn helps young people to build confidence, work as part of a team, create new relationships and make informed choices about their futures.
The summer festival, a theme chosen by the young people, culminated with the group being presented with certificates, yearbooks and a memory stick of images in front of their families, halow staff and volunteers.
halow is now taking referrals for its Building Futures 2013/14 year. For more information, please contact Sara Doneux on 01483 447960 of email firstname.lastname@example.org
