On Thursday 05th March 2015 halow had the pleasure of attending the High Sheriff Youth Awards (HSYA) Celebration event at the stunning Exxon Mobil UK head quarters in Leatherhead. The event now in its 22nd year recognises and supports projects that have received funding from the HSYA grant scheme in the Shrieval year 2014-15. It was a chance for the spotlight to be turned on the achievements of young people across the 11 boroughs of Surrey.

In 2014 the HSYA helped fund A Reason To Get Up's Crafty Creations project and was visited by Peter Lee, High Sheriff of Surrey 2014-15.

It was a wonderful event and a great opportunity to meet high profile representatives from all over Surrey. It was also fantastic to see so many organisations working to improve the lives and opportunities of young people.

The evening kicked off with moving presentations from Ashtead Rally Karting, Leatherhead Youth Project, Straight Talking, Goldhawks Basketball and Guildford City Boxing Club. Then people had the opportunity to peruse the display stands and network. We were amongst Oxted Young Persons' Theatre and Rock Challenge.

We want to say a huge thank you to all the HSYA funders, Trustees and Council Members especially Caroline Breckell, Lesley Myles, Sally Varah and of course Peter Lee for their continued patience and support.
