This year halow has the absolute pleasure of working with Foxhills Golf Club since being nominated charity of the year for 2018. Club Captain, Dee Shah, will be leading the fundraising for the charity through the year with various events but most notably the Captain’s Charity Day on Sunday 24th June and the Captain’s Day on Sunday 12th August 2018.
Earlier this year Vice Captain Gordon Phillips ran the Surrey Half Marathon for halow raising over £1,500.
Foxhills Country and Golf Club is set in among three beautiful courses in Ottershaw, Surrey. The Foxhills Golf Club is home to the Club’s most passionate golfers. One of Surrey’s top country clubs, the post of Foxhills’ Golf Captain has been celebrated for 40 years, and members enjoy an active competitive calendar.
halow's Director, Ann Kenney, said “We are extremely grateful to Dee and Gordon and everyone at Foxhills for their interest and support for our services for young people with a learning disability. The services we offer are a lifeline to young people and families and at present the social care funding environment is very challenging and so fundraisers willing to put their time and efforts into supporting the charity are greatly valued. We are delighted that such a prestigious club has taken such interest in our work and looking forward to meeting members and exploring opportunities for our young people to get involved with the club.”
halow friend and motorsport driver Ollie Millroy is also a member and ambassador for the club and is also looking forward to getting involved.
If you would like to join the Charity Day please contact the club or message Dee via the Foxhills Captain’s Page on Facebook. Supporters of the charity are welcome to get involved.
Thank you to everyone at the club, in particular club captain Dee Shah, for his nomination and support for the work we do helping young people with a learning disability in Surrey.
