We were delighted with the response to our community fundraising campaign during the Guildford Christmas lights switch on yesterday.

We were present in the High Street all day with our  army of volunteers, young people and staff sharing information on the charity, fundraising and selling handmade Christmas items and cards.

Community fundraiser, Hannah Adair commented: “We were delighted with the response we had from the Guildford community. Once again people’s interest in what we do and their generosity was brilliant and we are very grateful to everyone who contributed. The Newfoundland Association with their beautiful dogs were a real hit with the public along with our mascot, Hector the halow bear.”

It was amazing to have our mascot Hector in the mascot parade as well as Guildford Fringe's Nick interviewing our Head of Fundraising, Ann, on the main stage.

Thw switch on concluded with an outstanding fireworks display that wowed the enormous crowds.

Thanks to everyone who supported us throughout the day including volunteers, young people, Experience Guildford, Eagle Radio and the public. We raised over £800.
