St Nicholas Church, Guildford was the magical setting where the annual Christmas Gala Concert took place on Tuesday 13th December 2016. This year Guildford Chamber Choir took to the stage alongside the halow project’s very own Music Group. Sponsored by local accountants Wilkins Kennedy, the event saw a wide a range of festive pieces ranging from contemporary to classical arrangements, the choir being conducted by Sebastian Forbes and the accompanist being Matthew Rickard.
The 150 plus audience, kicked off this festive evening with mulled wine and mince pies, kindly donated by Waitrose and Tesco. After the interval Adam Mullany from the halow Music Group, stepped up and gave a magnificent reading of ‘I Keep My Snowman In The Freezer’ before the Music Group then performed two festive songs. Jason Butcher halow’s Social Activities Co-ordinator said “Fantastic singing by our young people, they really gave it their all and Adam should be congratulated on his very clear public speaking. It has been a joy working with the Group and special thanks should be given to Anthea Prince and Jan Gould who have helped enormously with the practice session over the last few weeks”.
The concert supported by local Guildford Accountants Wilkins Kennedy whose generous sponsorship allowed 100% of the proceeds from the evening to go directly to halow services. The evening raised a fantastic £1600 to support young adults with a learning disability in Surrey.
