Five wonderful people including our very own Jason Butcher ran the Brighton marathon for halow project on Sunday, raising over £2000 for the charity.
It was a brilliant and emotional day and the sun even blessed us in the afternoon with its presence! Everyone finished the marathon and our first runner crossed the line in an amazing time of 3 hours 30.
Jason, halow's Social Activities Co-ordinator said " I was nervously excited beforehand and just a little concerned a knee problem might prevent me from completing the run. I really enjoyed the camaraderie of the other runners and the support of the crowd. Needless to say, I was delighted to see my girlfriend Mel and my work colleagues in the final few yards, and as I crossed the line, I felt a mixture of relief and pride to have finished".
Hannah Adair, part of the halow fundraising team, was there to greet the runners at the line and commented: "it was so emotional to see the halow runners set off and embark on such a huge challenge for a brilliant cause. It was an amazing day and I was so proud to see all our runners cross the finishing line, all still smiling!"
