On Thursday 23rd of April, A Reason To Get Up set up shop at the St Georges Day Farmers Market on Guildford High Street. Selling a selection of hand made products made by the Crafty Creations group including cards, candles and plants grown in the halow allotment. Giving the young people the opportunity to promote and sell products they have made to the public. The group also handed out leaflets on volunteering and general information about the charity to passers by raising awareness among the local community about the work we do.
The group made £74 on the day which will be invested back into the project for materials for new products. The ARTGU group are always looking for donations of unwanted materials, card and craft items along with creatively skilled volunteers to support the group.
ARTGU aims to engage young people aged 18+ with a learning disability in meaningful daytime activity within the Surrey community.
