Volunteer With Us

In light of the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) and the resulting temporary discontinuation of some of halow’s activities and services we are currently assessing our staffing capacity moving forward.  For the time being, we are not proactively recruiting any new team members, however, when normal services resume we would very much like to be in the strong position we were prior to the Coronavirus outbreak and as such would encourage anyone interested in working or volunteering for halow to register their interest via jobs@halowproject.org.uk or volunteering@halowproject.org.uk so that we can contact you as soon as possible.

halow relies on its team of volunteers who build relationships with the young people we support, engaging them in a wide range of activities. We treat our volunteers with the utmost respect as they are and extension of the team employed by halow and play a critical role to our success and future.

There is no minimum time constraint, all we ask is a commitment from volunteers to allow us to make accurate and proper plans where supervision, support and volunteering is necessary. So, whether you can help once a week, once a month or three times a year, volunteers are essential to us.

For ease we categorise our volunteering needs in four ways:

    • Social Activity volunteers- help with the many events and activities organised for halow's young people
    • Project volunteers- assist with halow's educational initiatives such as A Reason to Get Up! Building Futures and Peer to Peer
    • Office/ admin support volunteers- help out in the halow office with our friendly team
    • Community event volunteer- help with raising awareness and fundraising for halow in a variety of ways (evening, daytime and weekend events)

Our volunteers come to us from a wide range backgrounds. Although our offices are based in Guildford, we welcome volunteers from various places, as opportunities for their support arise all over the south east. They are not expected to come to us with any previous experience; all we ask for is commitment and a willingness to work with our young people.
